Obstetrics & Gynecology Physician

The Obstetrics and Gynecology physician provides health assessment and direct care to obstetrics and gynecology patients as part of the provider team providing services to St. Joseph Health s (SJH) patients.

Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospitalist Duties and Responsibilities (12 hour shifts)

• Care for unassigned inpatient OB and GYN patients
• Provide triage and / or OB ED services
• Provide GYN consultations for hospitalized patients and the Emergency Department
• Oversee residents, fellows, midwives or advanced practice nurses
• Provide call coverage and L&D support : interpretation of EFM strips, stand-by for deliveries, perform delivery and monitoring of laboring patients for private OBs
• Serve as MFM extenders
• Surgically assist for other OBs or gynecologists

General Obstetrics and Gynecology attending physician Duties and Responsibilities :

Provides general primary obstetric and gynecological care using generally accepted standards of practice. The physician develops a plan of care for each patient, including complete history, physical examination, diagnosis, appropriate treatment and / or referral, uses all available resources in an appropriate and cost efficient manner.
