Job Description : The team is searching for a mid- or senior-level Mechanical Systems Design and Analysis Engineer, situated in Long Beach, California.

This position is to support the C-17 military cargo aircraft operated around the world. Focus for this position will be developing and maintaining aircraft mechanical systems such as hydraulics, flight control actuators, landing gear, environmental control, fuel and cargo handling.

The successful candidate has an ability to perform systems integration; create assembly and installation drawings, perform basic related analyses and resolve technical problems.

This position requires someone that is self-motivated, has leadership skills / lead potential and has good communication skills (verbal and written).

This position requires someone that is customer focused with the ability to focus on building strong customer relationships. Position Responsibilities :

Develops and maintains mechanical systems drawings and specifications

Supports analysis and design reviews

Follows documented processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of mechanical system commodities

Performs technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection

Supports the sustainment, development, and documentation of aircraft systems, primarily mechanical system design (will include interacting directly with USAF customer, Field Engineers, and C-17 aircraft).

Performs root cause analysis for field issues, provides corrective actions, and communicates with USAF customer (including presentations)

Guide / mentor engineers in design decisions and design / solution presentations.

Occasional travel to supply chain locations and military bases.

Demonstrated ability to lead small teams in establishing goals and managing projects.

Ability to work multiple tasks concurrently in a time constrained environment. Skilled in dispositioning customer support requests such as Service Reports, Design Deficiency / Material Improvement Projects and Crisis Management Team actions.

Demonstrate adaptability in accepting assignments outside normal duties as required.

Required Skill Set : Bachelor degree or higher in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.

Minimum 5 years of experience designing and supporting aircraft mechanical systems.

Skilled in presenting complex issues and solutions to the Air Force customer in both verbal and written forms.

Demonstrated leadership qualities and ability to follow through. MS Office, CAD Open to any STEM, but Mechanical or Aerospace is preferred.

Unlikely to find anyone with the experience / skill with any other STEM.) B.S Engineering

PR requirements : 5+ years of experience or education plus education

Desired Skills Set : C-17 or other military aircraft experience.

Skilled in Unigraphics NX modeling and Teamcenter drawing release system.

Skilled in drafting Time Compliance Technical Orders for aircraft in service changes and inspections.

Demonstrated engineering experience level to obtain Design Engineering Authority to approve waivers, non-conformance corrective actions and rework.

Demonstrated engineering experience level to obtain Design Approval Engineer authority to approve designs.

Technical Lead Engineer or ability to obtain certification for that role.

Versed in Boeing procurement system. Education Qualification : Education / experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.

g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.

g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, AClient accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
