Integrated Talent Strategies (ITS) is seeking Safety Engineer to work in the Findlay, Oh area. This position offers a variety of great benefits, including health insurance, 401(k), and paid time off. Salary range is $70,000 to-$75,000. Excellent benefits.
Position Summary :
The Safety Engineer is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of workplace safety, regulatory compliance, and risk management within the automotive manufacturing facility. This role focuses on developing, implementing, and continuously improving safety systems, processes, and culture to protect employees, equipment, and the environment while supporting efficient production operations.
Key Responsibilities :
Safety Management & Compliance
- Develop, implement, and maintain plant safety programs in accordance with OSHA, EPA, and local regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and job hazard analyses (JHAs) for manufacturing processes, equipment, and new projects.
- Ensure compliance with safety-related standards (e.g., ISO 45001, NFPA, ANSI, IATF 16949).
- Manage incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective / preventive action plans.
Training & Culture Development
Deliver and coordinate safety training programs for employees and contractors (lockout / tagout, machine guarding, ergonomics, PPE, chemical handling, etc.).Promote a proactive safety culture through communication, engagement, and leadership by example.Support safety committees and lead initiatives to improve awareness and accountability at all levels.Continuous Improvement & Engineering Support
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to design and implement safe equipment layouts, guarding, and ergonomics.Review new equipment installations and process changes for safety compliance.Identify opportunities for automation or engineering controls to eliminate hazards.Support environmental and sustainability initiatives related to waste reduction, emissions control, and energy efficiency.Reporting & Documentation
Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and compliance documentation.Track safety performance metrics (TRIR, near misses, corrective actions, etc.) and prepare regular reports for management review.Participate in audits and support regulatory inspections as required.Qualifications :
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related field.3-5 years of experience in safety or EHS roles within an automotive or manufacturing environment (preferred).Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or similar credentials a plus.Knowledge & Skills
Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, risk assessment methodologies, and accident investigation techniques.Familiarity with automotive manufacturing processes (stamping, welding, painting, assembly, etc.).Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, safety management systems, and incident tracking software.bout Integrated Talent Strategies (ITS)
