Job Description :

Sections will only be offered in person (no online / hybrid sections). We are particularly in need of instructors with availability during morning to early afternoon hours Mon / Wed and / or Tues / Thurs as we continue to expand our daytime program offerings.

Special Requirements :

The award of all degrees must be verifiable on a legible transcript. If degree award date is not posted on transcript your application will be deemed incomplete and removed from consideration.

Grade cards will not be accepted in lieu of transcripts.

All degrees and course work used to satisfy the required minimum qualifications must be submitted and from accredited postsecondary institutions. See our website here regarding accredited postsecondary institutions.

Minimum Qualifications :

Any Bachelor’s degree or higher AND two years of professional experience directly related to the faculty’s teaching assignment

OR

Any Associate degree AND six years of professional experience directly related to the faculty member’s teaching assignment

OR

Possess a valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject matter area

Commitment to diversity. The applicant must be able to demonstrate how these factors relate to the need for equity minded practices within the classroom.

Desirable Qualifications :

Recent community college or lower division teaching experience.

Expertise in field of course(s) to be taught.

Master’s in ASL or Deaf Studies or closely related subject preferred.

Native-like signing skills.

Experience designing and teaching curricula responsive to the needs of historically underrepresented and / or marginalized students.
