Ready to make an impact on your career, client projects, and the community? Burgess & Niple is seeking an experienced Traffic Safety Engineer to join our national Transportation Safety Team. The role involves expanding our safety practice to new regions. This position can be based in the following B&N offices : Cincinnati, Columbus, Mentor, or Louisville, KY; Boise, ID; Indianapolis, IN; or Portland, OR.
Responsibilities
Contribute to the national safety practice and work on projects nationwide.Lead development of Vision Zero Action Plans, Regional Safety Plans, SS4A Plans, Vulnerable Road User Assessments, SHSPs, and other safety initiatives.Perform and review safety analyses.Advise on projects involving the Safe System Approach (SSA), safety countermeasures, strategies, and the Highway Safety Manual.Participate in conferences to share knowledge with safety professionals across the country.Mentor and develop junior staff into safety professionals.Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.7+ years of experience in Transportation Engineering, Safety Planning, or related fields.PE registration is required; RSP is preferred.Expertise in the Safe System Approach, Vision Zero, and safety principles, with project management skills desirable.Strong verbal, presentation, written, and interpersonal communication skills.Proficiency in MS Office; experience with IHSDM is a plus.Self-motivated, adaptable, with the ability to learn virtual collaboration tools.To learn more about B&N's perks and culture, click here .
