Lead Technical Writer

ComplianceQuest is seeking a Lead Technical Writer that sits on the East Coast US (preferably in Florida). As a Lead Technical Writer, you are a strategic leader and content expert who defines and executes the content strategy for complex, cross‑functional product areas. You will be a hands‑on writer, a vocal champion for the customer, and a mentor to other technical writers. Your work will have a significant impact on customer success. You will help reinvent our existing help content and online customer knowledge portal to ensure customers get the information they need, when they need it.

The Lead Technical Writer will create solution‑oriented content for end users and administrators for ComplianceQuest’s next generation of QHSE software solutions for medical device, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, and other industries we serve while collaborating with product managers, developers, QA, and UX.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Content Strategy and Leadership : Act as a strategic advisor to content creators and product teams while defining the vision for complex content experiences, including AI‑driven initiatives.
• Information Architecture : Design and refine the information architecture for large, complex product areas to ensure content is discoverable and useful.
• Process Innovation : Help transform the existing help content. Introduce a new content authoring tool along with the necessary authoring, collaboration, review, and publishing processes to coincide with product releases.
• Expert Authoring : Create, edit, and maintain high‑quality documentation for end users and administrators. Assist with in‑app help text, error messages, etc. to improve clarity and usability.
• Stakeholder Collaboration : Partner with senior leaders, product managers, engineering teams, and UX designers to plan content that supports business and customer goals.
• AI and Innovation : Embrace and champion new technologies, including generative AI, to improve content creation, governance, management, and optimization.
• Mentorship and Advocacy : Mentor other writers, foster knowledge sharing, and champion the needs of customers throughout the product lifecycle.
• Data‑Driven Decisions : Identify content improvements through data analysis and customer feedback, establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) to track content effectiveness.
• Stay current on assigned internal CQ training as assigned in the CQ‑QMS.
• Comply with all internal CQ Quality and Information Security requirements.
• All other responsibilities / duties as assigned.
