The Portfolio Manager is responsible for supporting a portfolio of business and servicing prospective and current clients to produce a variety of commercial loans. Key responsibilities include working with Commercial Lender to underwrite, structure and document quality loans per bank policy, and to assist Commercial Lender in the day-to-day management of the commercial loan portfolio.
Primary Responsibilities / Duties
- Support the growth and development of the assigned commercial lending loan portfolio by effectively managing a client portfolio as assigned by Commercial Lender
- Effectively monitor portfolio for revenue opportunities and / or loan exposures
- Assist in the sales proposal process, including accompanying the lenders on customer and prospect calls and various other sales / customer-oriented projects
- Establish and maintain relationships with current and prospective clients. Leverage customer knowledge to proactively identify and recommend opportunities to cross-sell additional loan and non-credit products to clients
- Work with clients to modify and / or restructure existing loans as needed
- Help resolve credit problems, delinquent payment issues, and other related affairs
- Review current account status, to include but not limited to, Past Due accounts and Notes Matured. Make appropriate recommendations for these accounts
- Monitor portfolio loan exposure including review of monthly maturity reports, daily overdraft activity reports and weekly past dues reports. Reports deteriorating credit situations in a timely manner
- Participate in evaluating risk rating and make revision recommendations
- Prepare lending activity reports for management and loan committee as needed
- Attending new client meetings as requested with loan officer.
- Gathering initial information on new loan requests, such as entity documents, customer identification, contact information, financials, tax returns and collateral descriptions.
- Writing detailed credit memos for new loan requests and renewals.
- Working with credit analyst to complete the loan proposal and facilitate the approval process through loan officer, loan committee, or board loan committee.
- Scheduling loan closings and attending in the loan officer's place as needed.
- Contacting current customers to clear exceptions after loans are booked.
- Work coming due loans 45-60 days in advance.
- Other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Required Skills / Qualifications

Five years loan experience, preferably in a credit analyst or administrative role.A degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Marketing or equivalent experience preferred
