Position Title : School-Based Mental Health Professional

Reports To : Director of Student Services / Project Director - Discovering the Genius Project

Salary Range : Maximum $60,697.00 plus benefits

OBJECTIVE : The School-Based Mental Health Professional will provide targeted mental health services to support students in Orangeburg County School District (OCSD) who are assigned to alternative education in lieu of expulsion, students experiencing chronic absenteeism, and students who have been expelled. This role is critical in addressing social, emotional, and behavioral health needs that impact student engagement, academic success, and overall well-being.

ESSENTINAL DUTIES

Direct Student Support

• Provide individual and group counseling sessions to students with identified mental health needs.
• Deliver crisis intervention and ongoing support for students facing emotional, behavioral, or trauma-related challenges.
• Work directly with students in alternative education placements, expelled students, and those exhibiting patterns of chronic absenteeism.
