About the Role

We're seeking a hands-on Tech Lead to join a fast-moving engineering team working on a meaningful mission. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in early-stage environments, where product direction may start fuzzy and evolve quickly. You'll be a core contributor to the codebase while also mentoring junior engineers, setting technical direction, and helping turn abstract ideas into robust, scalable features.

The ideal candidate will play a key role in accelerating the growth and effectiveness of the team, especially as new engineers onboard and begin contributing at full capacity.

Responsibilities

Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code daily across key areas of the application.

Mentor and guide junior engineers through pairing, code reviews, and architecture discussions.

Translate ambiguous product ideas into clear technical plans and solutions.

Partner closely with product and design teams to ensure feasibility and clarity in feature development.

Help define engineering best practices and contribute to a culture of technical excellence.

Drive onboarding improvements that enhance the team's ramp-up speed and cohesion.

Requirements

5+ years of software engineering experience, with a strong track record of building consumer-facing products.

Experience working in fast-paced, early-stage tech environments where priorities shift quickly.

Proven ability to work through ambiguity and lead projects from inception to deployment.

Strong mentoring skills and a passion for growing junior engineering talent.

Full-stack development experience preferred, but strong backend or frontend leads are also encouraged to apply.

Based in Los Angeles or open to frequent collaboration with a team centered in LA.
