We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Project Engineer to join our team. This is a local role in Clackamas, Oregon.
In this role, you will support the planning, coordination, and execution of diverse commercial construction projects (mostly in the $1 to $5 million range), ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. To be considered, candidates must possess commercial general contractor experience, as residential experience alone does not meet the requirements for this role.
Responsibilities
- Assist with on-site management to ensure project success
- Ensure project plans progress to meet anticipated deadlines
- Send project notice to proceed awards to all of the subs
- Manage the RFI (Request for Information) and submittal process
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress, ensure compliance with design specifications, and resolve technical issues
- Oversight of superintendents daily logs (including safety logs), reports, submittals, sub lists, subcontracts, schedules, change orders, material procurement, logistics, as-builts, and closeout procedures
- Strong focus on assigned work, ability to drive work forward, and do what it takes to ensure overall business success
- Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies under the guidance of senior team members
Qualifications and Requirements
A combination of education and experience in a relevant field (e.g., technical or trade school in Construction Management, or equivalent practical experience)Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction or engineeringStrong understanding of plans and schematicsPractical written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong organizational and time management skillsWillingness to travel locally to project sites as neededStrong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracyPrevious experience in commercial construction projectsProficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook; working knowledge of Procore and BuildingConnected is a plusWe participate in E-VerifyEmployment and Benefits
