Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise on missile defense activities, including adversary capabilities, systems engineering, and evaluation.
- Remain cognizant of intelligence updates of new threat systems affecting future missile defense architectures.
- Evaluate the adequacy of the current MDS (ballistic, hypersonic, and cruise missile defenses) and recommend improvements, concept of operations, and alternative strategies for affordable, technically advanced systems.
- Evaluate and adapt analysis of Allied Missile Defense systems and how they can be integrated into U.S. defenses within Unified Command Theaters.
- Provide reach-back for consulting services for key MDS development expertise; facilitate efforts across internal / external stakeholders (Services and Combatant Commanders) with strategic guidance.
- Support, evaluate, analyze, and develop technical recommendations through exchanges with FFRDCs, UARCs, and OGAs to improve program processes and technical capabilities.
- Support Defense Architecture evolution through assessment of interim / final results of Analysis of Alternatives and other analyses to meet top-level requirements.
- Assist in analysis, demonstrations, and tests to support early milestones and feasibility assessments and verify architecture analysis assumptions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required : Master\'s degree in STEM and 12+ years of relevant experience.Active Secret clearance.Missile Defense experience.Ability to accomplish duties with minimal guidance.Desired
Knowledge of hypersonic weapons and their capabilities and limitations.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with emphasis on PowerPoint.Experience with GCC or its members; military / logistics support with THAAD or allied nations; early warning systems.Detailed knowledge of MDS including C2BMC and LINK 16; joint services or Combatant Command experience; space systems experience.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to work independently or as part of a team; strong engineering rigor to solve problems.In-depth practical and theoretical technical / engineering knowledge.Working knowledge of missile defense system components and mission; familiarity with DOD / MDA processes.Ability to work in a high-paced environment with multiple organizations and leadership; proficiency with Microsoft tools.Ability to execute tasks with minimal supervision; ability to travel 20-25% to CONUS / OCONUS locations; ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.Growth and Benefits
