Key Responsibilities
- Accurately and efficiently read, interpret, and enter prescription information into the system.
- Research, screen, and resolve incomplete prescriptions after clarification is obtained from the prescriber.
- Prepare and complete appropriate patient letters as required.
- Communicate with physicians for prescription clarification, substitutions, and formulary changes.
- Support prescription processing workflows to ensure timely and accurate completion.
- Maintain production and quality standards as defined by management.
- Perform additional pharmacy functions and duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Completion of a Pharmacy Technician training program.Minimum 3 months of pharmacy experience (retail, mail order, or healthcare setting).Active State Board of Pharmacy license or trainee registration – must include your Texas or Arizona registration number on your resume.Typing proficiency and basic computer knowledge are required.Adept at reading and interpreting prescription terminology and medication names.Familiarity with generic drugs and their routes of administration.Ability to understand and interpret Latin symbols commonly used in prescriptions.Strong math skills – able to calculate dosages and days’ supply accurately.Excellent attention to detail and accuracy while typing and entering data.Flexible, reliable, and able to work effectively in a high-volume environment.Education
