Job descriptionBachelor's degree in Engineering, Biomedical Science, or related field; advanced degree preferred. Minimum 12 years of total industry experience, with at least 7 years in leadership roles within medical device product development. Proven experience overseeing managers and large, multidisciplinary teams (40+ staff). Strong track record of bringing Class II or III medical devices from concept through commercialization. Deep understanding of FDA, ISO 13485, and design control requirements. Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and organizational leadership skills.
Senior Director Of Product Development
A very reputable medical device client of ours is seeking a Senior Director of Product Development to lead a high-performing team of over 40 engineers, technicians, and managers responsible for developing next-generation medical devices. This individual will provide strategic direction, foster innovation, and ensure the successful delivery of programs from concept through commercialization.
Location : Fridley, MN
Salary : 185-225k + bonus
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead and develop a team of managers and technical professionals across multiple product lines.
- Oversee the full product development lifecycleconcept generation, design, verification / validation, and transfer to manufacturing.
- Establish and execute development strategies aligned with company objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, and Operations teams to ensure program success.
- Mentor and build leadership capability within the management team.
- Manage departmental budgets, timelines, and resource planning.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability.
