Human Resources Assistant
The Human Resources Assistant for Western States Fire Protection works under the general supervision and guidance of the Human Resources Manager. The HR Assistant is responsible for the daily administrative functions of the HR department, which includes administrative support for the HR Manager and HR Specialist, while always providing a high level of customer service to all employees and branch managers. The HR Assistant will also assist the safety team with injury paperwork and tracking.
The hourly rate for this position is $23.00-$26.00 per hour, depending on experience.
This is an on-site position, and remote work is not available.
Job Responsibilities
Provide support to the Human Resources Manager, Executive Team, Accounting and Payroll department as neededResponsible for responding to and tracking all Company unemployment claims, employment verifications, and employee referralsManage all HR department mailPrepare annual reports required under OFCCP and EEOC (Vets 4212, EEO-1, other state mandated reporting, etc. )Ensure all offices have the required federal and state employment law posters (order new ones annually)Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly employee statistical reportsUpdate and Maintain employee files, the employee handbook, and the HR department SharePoint pageName and file all paperwork associated with employee injuries; follow up on missing paperworkUpdate the corporate OSHA log (monthly) and file the company OSHA 300 reports (annually)Administer the company drug screen and background check processesResponsible for career fair / job fair registrations and attending with Company representativesNetwork with technical schools and high schoolsAssist the safety team with updating documents and processes, as neededComplete exit interviews with departing employeesPerform other HR-related duties and assist with special projects as assignedJob Qualifications
Two years of Human Resources or other related administrative experience is preferredBachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Resources, or another related discipline is preferredAn interest and passion for learning Human Resources functionsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)Detail-oriented and able to handle a high volume of work in a fast-paced environmentPossess effective communication skills with the ability to interact with employees and vendors in a professional mannerWilling to multi-task and set prioritiesAble to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretionWilling to pass a post-offer drug test, reference and background checkThis job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
