About Us

The Byron CUSD #226 Teaching and Learning Department is committed to supporting the districts shared vision.

Best practices, research-based curricular choices, and data-driven decision making will contribute to the "positive, supportive, and challenging environment" that we want for our students.

Additionally, the teaching and learning department will support the continuous growth of our educators through both professional development opportunities and support of high-function teaming.  This will continue to encourage the "collaborative culture that promotes professional growth".

Engaging parents and the community in teaching and learning is also an important task.  The goal is to create policies and procedures that are clearly communicated to all stakeholders including staff, students, and parents in an effort to have "ongoing two-way communication on a child's progress".  Byron CUSD is committed to "having high standards for student achievement".  The teaching and learning department will support and communicate this by monitoring and sharing of student learning data.

Specifically, the teaching and learning department is working closely with staff to support the Academic Programming Section of the District Strategic Plan.
