Inside Plant (ISP) Supervisor Job Description
The ISP Construction Supervisor will perform critical tasks that ensure quality installation and maintenance of the fiber network. This position reports to the ISP Manager.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Recruits and trains new staff
- Oversees the daily workflow of the department
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations
- Provides Management direction and counseling
- Oversees Time and Attendance duties, e.g., approving timecards
- Handles discipline of employees in accordance with company policy
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct site surveys for constructability and RF Design considerationsPrepare or oversee the preparation of installation and final as-built drawing packagesManage the project materials procurementMonitor installation subcontractor performance in accordance with :SoW, Schedule, Budget, and Quality
Prepare and submit status reports to customer and managementQA / QC subcontractors as well as in-house crews on MxU, Greenfields and retro builds.Support field and network engineers during testing phase as requiredOversee Field Technicians' performanceHandle distribution of work assignments, develop project completion dates, review and redline work printsClient support and development including completion of job status tracking reports, and client meetingsAssist ISP Manager and Project Manager with coordination and execution of surveys, design reviews, and close-out packagesPrepare and update network documentation based on changes in network topologyManage Vendor performance for inside plantTrain and develop new and existing field techniciansResponsible for fiber fusion splicing on job sites when neededKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES

Associate's Degree or equivalent work experienceValid Driver's license with satisfactory driving record1-3 years of operations management experience installing and maintaining fiber optic products and services1+ years supervisory experience of small, remote, field based teamsCertified Fiber Optic Technician certification preferredCertified as a BICSI Technician or similar certification preferredStrong knowledge of LAN / WAN topologies, cabling standards and componentsWORKING CONDITIONS
