Senior Content Designer Job at Mercury in Portland

Overview

We’re looking for a content designer / writer who can write sharp, helpful, and on-brand content for our banking product and also shape the systems, guidelines, and strategies that help a whole team communicate better. The role balances micro details with macro strategy to ensure coherence, clarity, and personality across product communication.

What you’ll do

• Build deep empathy for our customers and translate it into clear, helpful product content.
• Partner with product teams to write everything from error messages to onboarding flows to system templates.
• Extend brand values into the product experience with persuasive, human-centered copy.
• Create and socialize guidelines for style, mechanics, shared language, and system-wide voice consistency; define and evolve the architecture of reusable content components; establish principles for how we utilize channels (in-app, email, notifications, etc.) and their cadence.
• Collaborate with research and design to test and refine messaging.
• Support major initiatives by partnering with product designers and PMMs to help customers understand new developments.
