Responsibilities
Position Overview : Newport Academy is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Dietitian to join our team! We are committed to serving the complex and multi-dimensional needs of teens seeking residential care for mental health issues. In this vital role, you will provide nutritional support and guidance to both our clients and staff, ensuring that each individual's dietary needs and preferences are understood and addressed.
Key Responsibilities :
Collaborate with Treatment Teams : Participate in weekly treatment team meetings to contribute to comprehensive care planning.
Conduct Client Assessments : Perform thorough assessments for clients experiencing disordered eating or challenges related to food and body image, and develop personalized nutrition care plans.
Provide Consultations : Offer weekly consultations and nutritional guidance to clients, helping them cultivate a healthy relationship with food.
Team Collaboration : Share insights and recommendations with clinical and culinary teams to ensure cohesive care and meal planning.
Documentation : Maintain accurate records of all client sessions and assessments in our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
Family and Provider Communication : Communicate with families, previous healthcare providers, and insurance companies as needed to support continuity of care.
Staff Training : Conduct quarterly training sessions for staff to enhance their understanding of nutritional needs and best practices.
Community Engagement : Lecture and present on relevant topics in the community as requested, promoting awareness of nutrition and mental health.
Qualifications
Compensation for this role ranges from $33.84-41.00 per hour depending on education and experience.
