The IT Analyst, Process Intelligence & Telematics is responsible for the design, development, testing, implementation and support of Vulcan's Process Intelligence &Telematics (PI&T) technology solutions.
Acts as project partner for PI&T projects including those of a complex nature. This includes working closely with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, discuss findings, and develop solutions so that data-driven decisions can be made effectively.
Provides training and support to users, including administrators and end-users, to maximize their understanding of technology solutions.
Duties may include instructing, directing and checking the work of other personnel.
What You'll Do :
Understand Business Problems. Works with business representatives and other IT personnel in the development of business requirements and develops associated technical requirements and design documentation for approval.
Assist in the development of test plans and performs all unit testing required to ensure programs and systems meets business and technical requirements.
Create Solutions. Responsible for developing, installing, testing and maintaining approved application changes. To ensure defined and approved business requirements are met, data integrity is maintained and processes are efficient.
Assist support personnel and business representatives in the development of test plans, training documentation and system documentation.
Data Analysis. Identifies relevant data from various sources such as databases, spreadsheets, or other various systems to drive creation of reports, dashboards, and visual representations of data using tools like Excel, or Tableau to facilitate understanding and decision-making.
Ensures data quality by thoroughly evaluating data sources and removing inconsistencies, errors, and duplicates.
Improve Business Performance. Improve business performance by problem solving and troubleshooting as part of a project team.
Communication. Prepares and assists with creation of PI&T presentations and reports for dissemination across the organization.
Compliance. Ensures the integrity, confidentiality, and proper handling of data in compliance with privacy regulations and organizational policies.
Vendor Liaison. Assist with the day-to-day liaison for the organization's enterprise PI&T technology vendors and Vulcan Materials Company.
Qualifications
What We're Looking For :
Education :
Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred, but relevant work experience may substitute for formal education.
Required :
- Inquisitive personality with strong problem solving skills and the ability to quickly learn new technologies and implement them in a business environment.
- Works well in a team, open to gathering and sharing technical knowledge with others.
- Excellent planning, organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization.
Preferred :
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, Go, Javascript, PowerShell, C#.NET.
- Familiarity with databases and query languages such as SQL Server, SQLite, T-SQL.
- A basic understanding of statistics, data analysis, and data visualization tools.
- Knowledgeable in machine learning statistical tools and methods, familiarity with latest research and methodologies.
- Experience in IoT, remote sensing and data collection such as microcontrollers, Raspberry Pi, and Arduino.
- Familiar with software development best practices of version control such as Git, continuous integration, continuous delivery CI / CD, DevOps.
- Prior experience with Enterprise Data Historian applications such as Canary Labs Historian, AVEVA OSI PI Historian, or other time series databases such as InfluxDB.
- Experience with telematics solutions, such as Eroad / Coretex, GeoTab, Lytx.
- Bilingual capabilities are not required, but are a plus.
