Contracts Support Specialist

Location : Orlando, FL

What you will do :

The Contract Support Specialist is responsible for the upkeep of contract records, preparing change orders, and as-built drawings and processing contractors' payments.

• Ability to : Communicate effectively in English (verbally and in writing)
• Responsible for : Exercising independent initiative to help relieve supervisor of administrative duties, tasks, and other projects as assigned.
• Responsible for : Assisting the Project Administrator in office related duties (i.e., MAC, progress meetings, monthly and final estimates, EEO compliance, processing construction contract changes, data upload, submittal tracking, staff certifications, etc.)
• Responsible for : Project specific work under the general supervision of the Senior Project Engineer and staff.
• Review and approve daily inspection reports.
• Must be able to independently interpret work details from the field and make technical decisions related to office operations.
• Directs work that involves specialized or complex engineering construction payment and record keeping processes for progress and final estimates.
• Provides administration support
• Plans, schedules, and coordinates contract administration tasks for CEI projects to assure compliance with the construction contract and other applicable guidelines.
• Monitors construction costs, negotiating prices for contract modifications with contractors.
• Writes or supervises the preparation of reports and correspondence, and communication with contractors, supervisors, local agency officials, subordinates, media and the general public.
• Documents pertinent project activities in order to maintain accurate records. Implements QC / QA procedures and documentation as directed by senior staff.
• Understands and adheres to assigned phase and project schedules and budgets to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of project.
