Forklift Operator
Operate gasoline or electric-powered industrial trucks equipped with forklift and / or elevated platform to move materials.
Operates gasoline- or electric-powered trucks to transport materials between loading, processing, and storage areas.
Operates lifting devices, such as forklifts, lift beams and swivel-hooks, hoists, and elevating platforms, to load, unload, transport, and stack material.
Moves pallets, skids, boxes, and paper roll stock, and secures material or products for transport to designated areas.
Unloads and loads raw materials from flatbed and van trailers.
Dumps, sprays, or releases materials into hoppers.
Performs routine maintenance on vehicles and auxiliary equipment.
Completes daily Vehicle Condition Report.
Manually load or unload materials onto or off pallets, skids, platforms, cars, conveyors, or lifting devices.
Operates or tends automatic stacking, loading, packaging, or cutting machines.
Weighs materials or products and records weight and other production data as required.
Operate and follow instructions as directed by an onboard RF unit.
Records quality and output measures and completes any other necessary paperwork.
Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision.
Follow all established standard operating procedures.
Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary.
Perform other tasks assigned by management.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Prior forklift experience required.
Prior experience in a production or manufacturing environment preferred.
Verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with others in the immediate work unit and in related support areas.
Ability to operator Warehouse Management Systems via stationary and onboard computers.
Demonstrated skills relating to time management and attention to detail.
This position requires the team member to work with machinery in an environment where there may be regular exposure to noise from machinery, variable temperatures, and additional department-specific variables. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required, and may include hearing protection, safety shoes, high-visibility clothing, and eye protection.
Other working conditions may include working 12 hour shifts and a fixed shift rotation, including holidays.
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.; walking, bending, squatting, climbing ladders and stairs are required.
