Computer Repair Technician (40,839+)

Dorchester County Public Schools is currently accepting applications for the position of Computer Repair Technician . Working with other technicians this position is responsible for installation maintenance and support for technology and assistive technology. Being well versed in computer applications and repair as well as the ability to provide those services while displaying great customer service is essential.

DUTIES :

• Install and optimize computers related equipment operating systems and application software.
• Assess install and complete wiring for network data and voice.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software on computers and related equipment to determine corrective action; repair if practical or refer to vendor for repair.
• Develop and implement a preventive maintenance cycle as appropriate and perform scheduled preventive maintenance.
• Assist the Network Administrator in the troubleshooting and upgrading of network systems.
• Maintain accurate records of device inventory including repair and maintenance of computers and related equipment.
• Determine and order parts and supplies to maintain an adequate on-hand maintenance inventory.
• Function as a member of pertinent district committees and serve as technical advisor in the selection of the proper equipment and configurations to support specified educational software.
• Provide a monthly summary of accomplishments concerns and information to be included in program or performance reviews.
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required.
