dormakaba is seeking an experienced Materials Operations Manager to join our team in Indianapolis. This position is responsible for receiving, warehousing, distribution, and inventory control of vertically integrated operations. Management responsibilities include tactical initiatives centered around safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives as well as analysis and execution of strategic investments. The Materials Operations Manager will collaborate with supply chain, engineering, customer service, production management and third-party suppliers to optimize customer satisfaction and meet business objectives.
HIRING SALARY RANGE : $105,000 - $160,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) PRIMARY DUTIES
- Leads day-to-day operations by coordinating and continuously developing warehouse, shipping / receiving and inventory control personnel in delivering added value to our customers and exceeding financial objectives.
- Identifies and implements strategic capital investments to optimize distribution and material movements within a rapidly growing operation.
- Trains, develops, and coaches supervisors in areas of employee relations and regulations; maintains discipline; enforces safety requirements and regulations.
- Ensures all orders are processed accurately and quickly to meet the highest standards.
- Oversees tactical initiatives focused on continuous improvement of safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance.
- Develops and maintains performance metrics to monitor progress and keep senior leadership informed of status, challenges, accomplishments, and opportunities for improvement.
- Participates in strategic business planning to support continuous growth of facility.
- Leverages knowledge of Lean / Continuous Improvement, Process Standardization, ERP Systems, Distribution Technology, Automated Material Movement Technology, and other skill sets to improve customer satisfaction, quality, increase efficiencies, and reduce cost.
- Mentors and develops the staff fostering dormakaba values and personal growth.
- Continuously improves customer satisfaction to provide on time delivery and meet customer quality and cost expectations.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree required (Operations / Distribution Management, Engineering, Business Administration or related disciplines preferred) - Master's Degree preferred.Lean and / or Six Sigma experience required, certification preferred.Strong ERP working knowledge. SAP experience strongly preferred in warehouse management and distribution.5+ years of manufacturing / distribution management experience.15 total years of production, warehouse management, and logistics experience preferred.Experience in Make to Order / Late Point configuration environment strongly preferred.Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTORS
