Talent Search Assistant (Part-Time)
Description of Duties :
Support the Talent Search office and staff by providing basic office and clerical duties. Communicate with students and families as needed and manage social media sites.
Provide supervision of students during both on-campus activities and off-campus trips. Perform basic office duties as assigned, including answering phones and walk-in questions.
Assist in maintaining records and student files. Make copies and help keep office organized. Assist staff with entering data into student database, running reports, and creating forms.
Assist staff in planning on-campus student activities and off-campus student trips. Provide supervision for middle and high school students during on-campus activities and off-campus trips to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.
Assist with communicating with families and students and managing program social media pages. Be a positive role model for participants.
Perform other duties as assigned. Regular attendance is an essential function of this position. This is a part-time position up to 20 hours a week.
Hours are variable and may require some evenings and weekends.
Minimum Qualifications :
High School Diploma or equivalent. Previous customer service experiences, or office work experience, or supervising / assisting with supervision of minors.
Responsible, reliable, organized, good communication, customer service skills, and interpersonal skills. Duties require extended periods of sitting, standing, walking, talking and listening.
Must be able to participate in student activities and trips off-campus. Requires lifting up to 25 pounds.
Desired Qualifications :
Associate Degree or completion of 24 hours of college coursework. Prior experience working with TRIO grants or students from similar backgrounds or personal experience overcoming similar challenges.
