Drive to provide the highest quality of care to laboring patients.

Ability to support patient choice and promote vaginal birth opportunities specific to patient preference.

Description :

The unit has 9 labor and delivery beds, 3 swing rooms, 2 operating rooms, and 3 observation beds.

The patient ratios are 1-2.

There are unit secretaries and techs available on the unit.

A dedicated CRNA and midwife are in-house 24 / 7, with Clients on call.

The documentation systems used are CPN and Meditech.

There is a requirement of 4 weekend shifts per month.

Staff may float to maternity or outside departments to assist as needed.

Patient experience requirements include maintaining satisfaction scores above 75%.

Required certifications are RN, ACLS, BLS, NRP, and fetal monitoring.

The dress code consists of hot pink and black uniforms.

Preferred attire is hot pink on top and black on the bottom.

The unit received the HCA Unit of Distinction award in 2021 and was a pilot hospital for Team Birth initiatives.

The laborist team model includes 24 / 7 midwives and dedicated CRNA and OB on call.

The focus is on personalizing each birth experience to meet the desires and needs of patients.

Couplet care is performed in the postpartum unit to allow newborns to remain at the bedside and support breastfeeding.

There is availability of donor milk when needed.

The unit has an 8-bed level 2 NICU with a dedicated NNP available 24 / 7.

NNPs are available to attend all high-risk deliveries as necessary.
