Financial Crime Risk Investigator II
As a Financial Crime Risk Investigator II, you will conduct investigations of moderate complexity for both internal and external cases regarding money laundering and terrorist financing for our correspondent banking clients. You will make recommendations for demarketing and / or freezing accounts by the appropriate investigative unit. You will also conduct adjudications of moderate complexity and provide occasional quality assurance review / mentorship of a team.
Our team currently operates under a primarily offsite working model, employees must be available to come into a TD location for "moments that matter" at a frequency determined by the business. Candidates that live within a 50-mile radius of a TD AML Hub location is strongly preferred.

Zone 2 : Jacksonville, FL; Mount Laurel, NJ; Wilmington, DE; Greenville, SC; Charlotte, NC; Fort Lauderdale, FL; Lewiston, ME; Portland, ME) $28.25 $42.50 / hour
Zone 3 : New York, NY; Boston, MA; Vienna, VA $30.00 $45.00 / hour
Depth & Scope : Experienced working professional role providing services, advisory or processes / program support. Requires experienced, conceptual, and practical knowledge within respective area and knowledge of broader related areas. Accountable for own work and sometimes others; acts as an escalation point or knowledge resource for others in their own area. Leads projects or work streams within broader projects with moderate risk and may be accountable for ongoing activities, processes, and functional programs. Works within broad guidelines / policies and independently performs tasks from end to end. Work performed under minimal management guidance and supervision.
Education & Experience : Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience 3+ years experience
Preferred Skills & Experience : At least 2-3+ years of correspondent banking experience, with demonstrated understanding of nested relationships, payment flows, and associated AML risk. Prior experience conducting global or complex financial crime investigations, including cross-border activity and multi-jurisdictional analysis. Strong knowledge of investigations involving wire transfers, remittances, or other electronic money movement, particularly through high-risk locations. Working knowledge of SWIFT payment messaging systems, including ability to interpret it for tracing and risk analysis. Familiarity with AML typologies and red flags associated with correspondent banking such as layering, structuring, sanctions evasions, or shell company misuse.
Customer Accountabilities : Conducts investigative analysis by collecting, assessing, and collating case file information for AML, Sanctions / ABAC & Financial Crime investigations. Conducts data analysis, manipulation and interpretation looking for patterns and anomalies. Initiates investigations and / or responds to emerging AML and Sanctions / ABAC risks. Assists with reviewing and investigating court orders (subpoenas) related to criminal actions. Assists and coordinates investigations with various law enforcement agencies as delegated. Prepares and delivers AML, Sanctions / ABAC & Financial Crime and / or fraud detection / loss prevention training or updates to Bank Employees or other agencies as assigned.

Conducts reporting and / or meaningful analysis at the functional or enterprise level using results to draw conclusions, makes recommendations, assesses the effectiveness of programs / policies / practices. Be knowledgeable of practices and procedures within own area of responsibility and keeps abreast of emerging trends for own functional area. Protects the interests of the organization identifies and manages risks, and escalates non-standard, high-risk transactions / activities as necessary. Maintains appropriate project records, databases, and information; reports to management and others on project status and updates. Monitors service, productivity and assesses efficiency levels within own function and implements continuous process / performance improvements where opportunities exist. Acquires and applies expertise in the discipline, provides guidance, assistance, and direction to Analysts, Investigators and others. Identifies, recommends, and effectively executes standard practices applicable to the discipline. Adheres to internal policies / procedures and applicable regulatory guidelines. Keeps abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assesses potential impacts. Maintains a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite.
