Duties, Responsibilities & Other

The OSP Practice Leader is a highly organized and experienced individual who assumes a pivotal role in day-to-day leadership, financial management, marketing, coordination, collaboration, team building, mentoring and staff development within the technical practice.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead by example, earning respect from all employees through professionalism, accountability, and presence.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the team by being available 24 / 7 as needed, both in the field and in the office.
  • Represent the company at internal and external events as needed.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to Project Managers (PMs), Project Assistants (PAs), and field staff.
  • Fill in for PMs during absences or vacations; maintain a mid-level understanding of all ongoing OSP projects.

Project Oversight & Execution

  • Maintain daily communication with PMs and the Director to ensure alignment and smooth project execution.
  • Independently review PM reports weekly and conduct in-depth review sessions with PMs twice monthly.
  • Ensure drop and hit totals are accurately reported on a monthly basis.
  • Work closely with PMs on budgeting issues and ensure accurate revenue recognition for drops.
  • Bidding & Contract Management

  • Prepare and submit daily bids for ongoing opportunities.
  • Lead or support the completion of large bids and present summaries to VP and President.
  • Perform detailed contract reviews, including redlines and bid evaluations.
  • Participate in and lead bid reviews with internal stakeholders.
  • Meetings & Internal Communication

  • Lead weekly PM meetings and check-ins to align on project progress and challenges.
  • Attend weekly Construction Management (CM) meetings, providing valuable input and updates.
  • Promote open, professional communication, and maintain confidentiality and sensitivity with personnel matters.
  • Business Development & Growth

  • Identify and pursue new leads and opportunities to expand OSP operations.
  • Assist with the onboarding of new clients and subcontractors.
  • Operational Support

  • Support field personnel by resolving issues quickly and effectively.
  • Assist in the development of the annual budget and capital expenditure requests.
  • Participate in discussions related to compensation adjustments and team development.
  • Required Skills & Attributes :

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to earn respect and lead diverse teams.
  • Excellent communication skills both upward to leadership and downward to staff with emotional intelligence and professionalism.
  • Deep understanding of Managing Project Managers and Construction Managers
  • Knowledge of OSP Construction and field operations.
  • Ability to manage sensitive information discreetly.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Proactive problem-solver and team collaborator.
  • Qualifications

    Education and / or Work Experience Requirements : Bachelor's Degree in related field (AEC Industry) and minimum of 7 years of related professional experience, or 11 years of equivalent professional experience. Progressive professional and increasing project management and organizational management experience. Proven experience in project management roles within the technical practice. Demonstrated leadership capability to build and lead teams of technical practitioners and / or project managers. Strong interpersonal as well as verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage budgets, project margins, and cash flow. Experience in business development, with a focus on maximizing client relationships and identifying growth opportunities. Commitment to fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence within the Practice. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions. Adaptability and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in relevant software and tools use in the practice area. Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to the service line.

    Certificates, Licenses, and / or Registrations Required : Ability to complete the KCI PM Training and Contract Training within six months of start date.

    Certificates, Licenses, and / or Registrations Preferred : Professional license or certification within the field of expertise preferred.
