Director of Nursing DON

Oceanside Care Center  is seeking a skilled  Director of Nursing  to oversee all nursing operations. The candidate will establish a cooperative environment that prioritizes quality standards, ensuring all staff members excel in patient care. The ideal candidate is a dedicated and compassionate registered nurse with strong leadership and management skills.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities :

Collaborate with the Administrator, management consultants, and facility staff to plan nursing services and coordinate with other disciplines. Communicate policies, evaluate performance, provide feedback, and assist as needed. Maintain records, manage budgets, and serve as the Senior Department Head. Make facility decisions in the Administrator's absence and act as the Quality Improvement Coordinator. Ensure clean, safe work areas, address hazards, and adhere to infection control and safety protocols. Uphold compliance with all regulations.

Department Staffing and Retention :

Support staff morale and retention through effective communication.

Manage recruitment, selection, orientation, training, and education.

Community :

Build relationships with Government Regulators, families, and the community.

Staff Development :

Address turnover with recruitment and staff education.

Conduct performance evaluations and oversee staff meetings.

Qualifications :

• Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing, licensed by the State
• CPR certified
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to convey complex information related to long-term care regulations
• Skilled in building relationships and coordinating plans
• Capable of educating staff while maintaining attendance
• Must perform core job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
