High School Level American Literature Tutor (Varsity Tutors Live Learning Platform)

The Varsity Tutors Live Learning Platform connects thousands of students with online tutors nationwide. As a tutor on the platform, you’ll have the flexibility to set your own schedule, earn competitive rates, and make a real impact on students’ learning journeys—all from home.

Compensation and Schedule

  • Base contract rates start at $18 / hour and increase for specialized subjects, with potential to reach up to $40 / hour for the same student over time.
  • Get paid up to twice per week for tutoring sessions you conduct and invoice.
  • Set your own hours and tutor as much as you’d like.
  • Tutor remotely using our Live Learning Platform—no commuting required.

What We Look For In a Tutor

  • Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
  • Expertise in High School Level American Literature and the ability to explain concepts clearly.
  • Ability to personalize lessons and adapt to different learning styles.
  • Preference given to candidates with tutoring or teaching experience and / or graduate-level education.
