Summary :
The Clinical Supervisor serves as both a discipline expert and skilled clinician within their program area and a clinical supervisor for frontline clinicians. As direct care providers they function as advocates, brokers, educators and treatment specialists and have demonstrated clinical competencies at all levels of care within the hospital. In their supervisory role, they provide individual and group clinical supervision, and help to ensure that services are patient centered, aligned with Northern Light Acadia Hospital / Healthcare clinical philosophies, evidence-based, and outcome-informed.
Responsibilities :
- Possess a vast clinical knowledge base about the population served in their program area(s).
- Demonstrate the ability to shift between roles of a practicing therapist and clinical supervisor. This role is 50% supervisory and 50% direct care.
- Complete and review clinical documentation content that reflects high-quality patient care including but not limited to psychiatric evaluations, psychosocial assessments, treatment plans and progress notes.
- Implement flexible yet targeted supervision models to continually develop the professional skills of the providers under their direct supervision.
- Provides case consultations, clinical reviews, makes recommendations for interventions with complicated and repeating clients.
- Educates and monitors employee treatment plan competencies.
- Ensures documentation includes clear, concise communication of updated diagnoses, progress toward recovery, and treatment recommendations to patient and patient's primary care provider.
- Establishes and maintains clinical staff competencies and treatment program fidelity to evidence-based practice models.
- Ensures assessment, treatment planning, and discharge planning on all patients served is completed according to regulations, Hospital / Healthcare policies and client / family perceptions of needs.
- Establishes and ensures program practices that facilitate consistent communication and collaboration with Acadia Hospital programs, community provider systems and contracted entity providers.
- Ensures department-wide, consistent and appropriate use of approved, validated screening tools, including risk assessment, as required.
