Summary :
This position requires initiative, ingenuity, the willingness to learn, and the ability to work independently. The primary role will be in assisting engineers on current projects with activities such as; creating tooling and fixtures, writing manufacturing documents, developing processes and preparing presentations.
Essential Functions :
- Support process development and characterization tasks
- Troubleshoot and support tooling and processing line layouts to ensure lean flow
- Support review and approval or contract manufacturing work instructions and training materials
- Duties associated with operation function in production development and process validation of a new product family located in low cost manufacturing region through a contract manufacturer
- Tooling design modifications for improved production efficiency
- Create and / or improve on systems that optimize the efficiency of material flow throughout the facility
- Develop the most efficient and cost effective manufacturing process, and sequence of production operations from blueprints, quality documents, and purchase orders
- Coordinate production processes by creating operation sheets and providing all manufacturing related information
- Create material process requisitions with technical data requirements for special manufacturing processes
- Research and develop process sheets with proper work instructions for the operators, inspectors, and shipping personnel
- Perform other related duties or responsibilities as required
Required Qualifications & Experience :
Must be a “U.S. Person” as defined by the U.S. Government and able to work without restrictions with ITAR related dataMust be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related fieldCurrent GPA of 3.0 or higher preferredDesired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel)Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of the organizationAbility to interpret policies, procedures, and standard business practicesAbility to read and interpret blueprints and engineering work instructionsAbility to initiate, record, recommend, verify, and implement corrective actions or solutions to problems relating to product, process or quality system.Knowledge of procurement procedures and authority to issue purchase orders for subcontracted servicesKnowledge of ISO 9002 standards and demonstrated ability to lead or support implementation initiatives to ensure compliance and maintain certificationMust have strong attention to detailAbility to travel domestically – 5% maxPhysical Requirements :
