Position Summary
Join our team as a Senior Mainframe Systems Programmer specializing in Software AG ADABAS environments. You will play a crucial role in upgrading mainframe database software while providing expert administration and tuning support. As a key team member, you will collaborate with vendor personnel to swiftly resolve database issues and ensure optimal performance for our clients.
Your daily responsibilities will include :
- Conducting essential database maintenance tasks such as definition changes, backups, restores, and space growth monitoring.
- Creating and maintaining disaster recovery procedures.
- Optimizing database performance through thorough reviews and tuning exercises.
- Supporting the onboarding process for new clients.
- Providing 24 / 7 on-call support as part of a scheduled rotation.
- Documenting all tasks performed, ensuring adherence to change management policies.
This position reports to the Senior Manager of Mainframe Database.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.Over 10 years of hands-on experience with Software AG ADABAS / Natural administration and systems programming.Proficient in configuring and managing Software AG ADABAS and related products.Extensive experience in :ADABAS database administration, NATURAL Security, and Fast Path.Database Design and management of FDT and DDMs.Performance tuning and utilizing ADABAS utilities such as Delta Save Facility and others.Understanding log archive and change accumulation utilities, as well as ADARUN Parameters and buffer pools.Expertise in protection logging and command logging.Experience establishing policies related to database management, security, and maintenance, as well as emergency database recovery activities.Ability to troubleshoot and resolve production database issues effectively.Proficiency in database monitoring and administration across various platforms.Other Qualifications
