The MAI internship program provides dynamic opportunities for highly motivated students to grow, learn, and engage in a professional work environment. As part of your internship experience, the firm will provide projects and activities that develop business acumen and enable you to polish and challenge your skillsets.
Responsibilities
- Interns will partner with the Research and Consulting teams.
- Understand and analyze all asset classes in clients' portfolios such as equities, fixed income, real estate, hedge funds and private equity
- Participate in team and firm projects upon request, which may include creating charts / graphs for client deliverables and data analysis
- Gather and analyze data for the research team or a specific asset class
- Use the different investment terminals at Marquette in order to obtain the most accurate and time sensitive data available
- Partner with performance and client analyst team members to complete various projects and deliverables.
- Gather data for monthly client meetings and analyze the data along with members of the assigned client team.
- Gather holdings for each client account to identify sector distribution and to compare the fundamental characteristics of the account to its appropriate benchmark.
- Monitor market trends and monthly performance results for all asset classes.
- Participate in team and firm projects upon request, which may include creating charts and graphs for client deliverables and data analysis.

In the process of obtaining a bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business or related fieldAttention to detail and highly organized, ability to work independently to meet deadlinesAbility to multitask in a fast-paced environment and react to change positivelySolid knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint); ability to quickly learn new software applications, including those which are proprietaryCRM or database management a plusCritical thinking skills, self-starter with excellent follow-up abilitiesHighly motivated with strong work ethicExcellent interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills and ability to work directly with others in a team settingCompensation & Schedule
$22 / hour for the 10-week programMonday Thursday, 8 : 30am 5 : 00pm Central, up to 32 hours per weekInterns will report to our Chicago office headquarters where they will have access to office perks, culture, networking, and social events!As an intern you will not receive all of the benefits that we offer below, due to your part-time employment status.
