Our client, a prestigious, nationwide, law firm dedicated to providing legal services to financial institutions, has an immediate need for an experienced Real Estate Litigation Attorney, to join their winning team in New York. Our candidate of choice will be responsible for handling contested / litigated matters for the Firm along with a portion of New York Commercial Foreclosure litigation. You will utilize legal knowledge and experience as necessary to facilitate the litigation process on behalf of our clients in New York. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES : Attend trials and hearings. Taking and defending depositions. Must be willing to travel throughout the entire state of New York on an as needed basis. May be required to attend hearings, mediations and other duties as assigned. Assist with other duties and special projects as needed. KEY REQUIREMENTS : Bachelor’s Degree with a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school. Minimum of 4 years of litigation / courtroom experience. Foreclosure experience a plus. Member of the New York Bar while maintaining all necessary licensing and continuing legal education requirements. Must be proficient in drafting pleadings, briefs, affidavits, discovery, proposed orders, as well as correspondence, memoranda, and opinion letters. Proficiency with Fastcase or Westlaw. Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills. Effectively communicates with all clients (via client systems, e-mail and phone). Provides exceptional customer service to internal and external customers. Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner. Conscientious with respect to work completion, deadlines, time management and attendance. Takes initiative in face of obstacles and identifies what needs to be done and takes action. Demonstrates commitment to Firm’s vision, mission, and core values. Analytical and detail oriented, while working at a fast pace and capable of multi-tasking. Excellent problem solving and organizational skills. Must be a team player and willing to help others in their department whenever necessary. Develops professional relationships and builds rapport with others. Overall good work ethic and willingness to adapt to change.
