Interest in personal and professional growth and the desire to seek supervision and knowledge to assist in this process. Some degree of flexibility with regard to evening and weekend work schedules. A minimum of an associate degree or equivalent in education, psychology, social work, community organization, counseling, human services, or related field. Within 6-12 months of hire obtain a Missouri Prevention Specialist (MPS) Certification through the Missouri Credentialing Board. Previous training or experience in public speaking, social services, minority relations, youth programs, planning / coordination, community organization, or teaching preferred. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to deal with several abstract and concrete variables. E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and data entry. This position works primarily in schools with local travel in the community. Must have a valid Driver’s License, valid car insurance, and reliable transportation. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively. The physical requirements of this job includes : sitting, standing, walking and climbing stairs on a regular basis; lifting up to 25lbs, pulling and / or pushing on occasion. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily, as well as possess the skills and meet the demands outlined in this job description.

Join our team as a part-time Prevention Educator in Warren County and bring vital lessons on substance use and healthy decision-making into classrooms. Help equip the next generation with knowledge and skills that last a lifetime.
Must possess experience working with middle and high school students to be considered and have teaching experience.
Primarily based in Warren County with some travel as needed. Average of about 16 hours per week, possibly more.
Pay is $30 per presentation with paid training, meetings, and mileage reimbursement. Schedule is based on a school calendar, rarely evenings or weekend unless you are asked to cover a special event.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide prevention programming for students, teachers, parents and / or community members.
- Participate as a team member in the coordination and implementation of prevention programming.
- Part-time Prevention Educator I team members are responsible for a workload of 5-6 presentations per day or other goal set mutually with supervisor.
- Establish and maintain relationships with school contacts, exhibiting flexibility, a positive attitude, and problem-solving skills when challenges arise.
- Document all aspects of the job in compliance with agency, contractual, and funding requirements.
- Perform all other related work as assigned.
