Job description

State Compensation Insurance Fund's Corporate Underwriting is looking for an individual who has Workers Compensation underwriting and / or claims experience, enjoys problem solving and analytics, to join the Experience Rating & The Workers Compensation Insurance Rating Bureau (WCIRB) Compliance Team in Corporate Underwriting.

We are California's largest provider of workers' compensation insurance, and a vital asset to California businesses. State Fund supports California's entrepreneurial spirit and plays a stabilizing role in the economy by providing priced workers' compensation insurance, making California workplaces safe, and restoring injured workers.

The qualified candidate will perform a full range of varied, complex, and sensitive analytical and consultative work necessary to effectively administer policy and claim data transmitted to the WCIRB and other regulatory agencies. This is a high-impact team that works very closely with numerous internal departments at State Fund and the WCIRB. This role involves regulatory compliance and may involve interaction with Senior Level Leaders

Key Functions :

  • Researching & Correcting Submission Management Errors for Policy Reporting Data
  • Researching & Correcting Submission Management Errors for Unit Statistical Reporting Data
  • Researching and resolving WCIRB queries

    Working Conditions

    The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

    Selected candidate(s) hired may be required to attend in-person Onboarding at our Vacaville office with expenses for attendance paid by State Fund.

    Effective July 1, 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) which reduces an employee's monthly salary in exchange for leave credits. Employees appointed to this classification will have their monthly salary reduced and will accrue hours of PLP 2025 on the first day of each pay period in accordance with the applicable bargaining contract. The salary range(s) included on this job posting do not reflect the reduction in pay.
