Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A full-time Itinerant Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) services is needed for a K-12 school setting. This contract position runs through the normal school year (NSY) and is located in Arlington, VA. The role focuses on delivering specialized education to students with hearing impairments, supporting their academic and social development across multiple grade levels.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Provide tailored instructional support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing in K-12 classrooms
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with parents, teachers, and support staff
  • Use specialized strategies and technologies to promote effective munication and learning
  • Travel between multiple school sites to deliver itinerant services efficiently
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods to meet evolving needs
  • Serve as a resource to general education teachers regarding acmodations and modifications
  • Support students transition between grade levels and into post-secondary opportunities

Qualifications and Experience Desired :

  • Valid teaching certification with endorsement or specialization in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education
  • Proven experience working with K-12 students who have hearing loss
  • Knowledge of audiological and assistive hearing technologies
  • Strong munication skills including proficiency in sign language is preferred
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple school locations

  • Location : Arlington, Virginia
