Job description
At The Mission Continues, we empower veterans to continue their service and empower communities with veteran talent, skills and preparedness to generate visible impact. We’re investing in veterans, equipping them with the tools and resources to lead a growing veteran volunteer movement. Through networks, training, and pathways, veterans can continue to serve while creating meaningful impact in under-resourced communities. THE OPPORTUNITYPlatoon Operations Managers support our volunteer platoon leaders on the ground across the country. Platoon leaders are the center of our work at The Mission Continues, and we are looking for someone who is eager to provide the support and resources that our volunteer leaders need in order to be successful. This individual will work remotely, but is required to be located in either Seattle WA, Denver or Colorado Springs CO. While there will be platoons in your city, you will also manage a cohort of volunteers remotely, and will need to build the relationships and tools to ensure that all your volunteers are supported and able to work independently, all while maintaining alignment with the values and mission of the organization. Our Regional Operations Managers come from a variety of backgrounds, but have one thing in common, a passion for service, and a desire to build a stronger movement of veteran leaders across the country. This role is full-time, temporary employment, at-will, and does not give you rights to a permanent staff position at The Mission Continues. You will receive paid holiday time off (Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, etc.), but you will not be eligible for paid vacation. Instead, you will receive 2 personal days. Your sick time will be prorated from your start date through the end of the term of temporary employment. In this role you will work closely with the Platoon Operations Team to continuously improve the way we recruit, train, support and retain our volunteers. You will be a coach to veteran volunteers, a resource manager, and will be on the front lines of the impact that our veteran leaders are having in communities. In order to be successful, this role calls for an administrative and operations professional who’s adept at communication, collaboration, and project management. A team player who is a multi-tasking expert that enjoys leading projects to completion and providing support to the team.
