Laboratory Animal Care Technician I

Essential Responsibilities

Animal Care

• Bedding and cage changes
• Animal health checks
• Equipment sanitization
• Waste disposal (including hazardous waste)

Environmental Maintenance

o Monitor environment of animal facility

o Record animal care and animal facility / room information

Facility Maintenance

Filter Changing

Room Sanitization

Additional Responsibilities

Ensure adherence to SOPs

Documentation and recordkeeping

Assist in Equipment Calibrations

Facility repairs and minor upgrades

Prepare tissue samples for transport

Assist in minor toxicology techniques

Work in a team environment with a professional and positive attitude

Other duties as needed

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications

Education :

H.S. diploma or equivalent preferred

Experience :

0-1 years

Skills :

Operation of routine animal care equipment (e.g., rack washer, mouse cages, and water bottles)

Certifications :

AALAS certification at ALAT level preferred

This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and / or years of experience. The salary range will adjust along with the level of the role to match the person's relevant experience and / or education level.
