Manager Academic Finance
This role helps ensure the financial health and compliance of the agreements by monitoring budgets, payments, contract compliance, and reporting. The manager acts as a liaison between Children's Health and external institutions to ensure contractual obligations are met, financial risks are mitigated, and financial performance is optimized. Participates in training and helps develop team members as needed, contributes to and supports a team environment and able to balance other ad hoc projects as they arise.
Responsibilities :
- Financial Oversight & Analysis :
- Oversee all financial activities related to multi-party contracts, including invoicing, bill payments, cash receipts, and revenue tracking.
- Monitor and manage budgets, reimbursements, and financial performance across all aspects and areas of the MSA and other funds flow agreements.
- Analyze cost trends and develop forecasts to help inform executive decision-making.
- Prepare, analyze, and present financial reports related to contract performance for internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in developing complex financial models that will help support the overall clinical and strategic objectives of Children's Health and partner institutions.
- Ensure accurate financial reporting and reconciliation related to contractual obligations.
- Contractual Management :
- Assist in serving as a financial liaison between partnering organizations to interpret and implement complex requests.
- Collaborate with legal, finance, and operational teams across organizations to manage contract execution and resolve financial issues.
- Monitor contract compliance, including milestones, deliverables, invoicing accuracy, and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Stakeholder Collaboration :
- Facilitate financial communications across finance, legal, clinical, and operational departments.
- Support negotiations for new or renewed agreements by providing financial modeling and risk assessments.
- Provide strategic input to optimize financial outcomes for all involved entities.
- Compliance & Risk Management :
- Develop and implement financial controls and procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance in contract financial management.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state healthcare regulations (e.g., CMS, HIPAA, Stark Law).
- Help identify and mitigate financial risks associated with the MSA and other fund flow agreements.
