Contract Length : 12 months with contract-to-hire

Location : Garland, TX, onsite 3 days / week; Occasional travel for plant tours and implementations (expenses reimbursed via invoice process)

Rate : $60–$84 / hour W2, dependent on skills and qualifications

Overview : The client is seeking a Controls Engineer to support a major enterprise initiative to standardize ERP, MES, and controls systems across five plants. The Control Engineer will focus on integration between MES and PLC / controls logic, enabling consistent and efficient manufacturing operations across extrusion, milling, and fabrication lines.

Key Responsibilities :

• Develop, maintain, and standardize integrations between MES systems and PLC ladder logic across enterprise manufacturing sites.
• Configure and optimize controls logic for extrusion lines and other production equipment, including handling up to 300+ set points passed from MES recipes to PLCs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams, including MES and ERP developers, to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Provide technical expertise in ladder logic programming, controls integration, and support during go-live phases.
• Participate in occasional plant tours and site support during implementations (infrequent travel).
