Travel Nursing Job Details

Assignment Type : Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Stepdown

Location : Austin, TX 78756 (Texas healthcare jobs)

Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 10 / 20 / 2025 – End : 1 / 19 / 2026)

Shift : 10-hour day shifts (06 : 30 AM – 5 : 00 PM)

Hours per Week : 40

Estimated Weekly Pay : $1860 - $2000

On Call : 1 weeknight per week and one weekend every 6 weeks

Unit : Cardiac Stepdown / Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)

Patient Ratio : 1 : 1

EMR : Meditech

Scrubs : Provided

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or compact state

Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Cardiac Stepdown, CVOR, or cardiovascular nursing

BLS certification (AHA required)

Strong teamwork, clinical, and communication skills

Reliable, punctual, and flexible with attendance

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

Deliver direct patient care to cardiac stepdown and post-surgical patients

Monitor, assess, and respond to changes in patient status promptly

Assist with cardiac procedures such as CABG, valve repairs / replacements, TAVR, and more

Operate advanced surgical equipment (bovie cautery, EVH video tower, IABP console, Impella console, etc.)

Accurately document care and interventions in Meditech EMR

Participate in scheduled on-call rotation

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Foster a positive, supportive, and drama-free work environment
