Job description

Overview

Sierra Lobo, offers customers a full range of professional and technical capabilities, including Test and Evaluation, Systems Engineering, and Advanced Technologies. We also develop products and processes related to Cryogenic Fluid and Thermal Management Systems, Densified Propellant Management Systems, and Prototype Extreme Pressure and Temperature Systems. Our customers include the Department of Defense (DoD), the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

The Publications Services Section is a branch of the Technical Services Department at the NASA White Sands Test Facility. Publications is WSTF’s onsite resource for experienced, professional support to produce quality scientific and technical communications, graphics, photographs, and video. Publications provides customer support for all phases of document production, site resources for export control, records retention and retrieval, and duplication capabilities with a full range of products and services.

Responsibilities

The position requires the use of sophisticated equipment, software, and graphic design technology to prepare complex documents, such as reports, procedures, job instructions, course books, and forms. Must be proficient with low-level editing and high-level formatting, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation to produce material accurately. Must be knowledgeable of MS Office Suite particularly advanced Word features. Must have experience with Adobe Acrobat Pro and database entry. Use duplicating equipment to produce printed materials. Assists with material purchase orders. May support event services for visitors, tours, and STEM (STEAM). Provides input to work schedules, estimates on work to be performed, and weekly status reports. May be required to test new applications and procedures. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Requires two (2) years of college with courses in information management, business administration, or related discipline, and two (2) years progressive experience, or any equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Preference will be given to applicants with a 2-year degree or above.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills corresponding to policies, procedures, and workflow processes.
  • Skill with MS Office and Adobe Acrobat Pro is required.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Must work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • Requires relevant experience in an administratively responsible position, or a combination of relevant experience and specialized training.
  • Position requires strong keyboarding and data entry skills.
  • May be required to pass a computer proficiency evaluation.
