Medical Collection Specialist

A company is looking for a Patient Collection Specialist to join their Revenue Cycle Management team.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure daily accomplishments align with company goals for cash collections and accounts receivable over 90 days

Research outstanding balances and take necessary collection actions to resolve issues in a timely manner

Negotiate payment plans with patients and interact with third-party collection agencies

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma / GED or equivalent required; some college is a plus

A minimum of one year of experience in medical collections with knowledge of managed care, commercial insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid reimbursement

Working knowledge of automated billing systems; experience with CPR+ preferred

Basic understanding of accounting practices and familiarity with ICD-9, CPT, and HCPCS coding

Solid Microsoft Office skills required, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
