General Description
Performs highly complex (senior-level) auditing work. Responsible for conducting audits of state agencies and institutions of higher educations expenditures submitted to the Comptroller of Public Accounts for payment including bills, travel reimbursements, grants, investments, payroll and procurement documentation. Responsible for preparing written correspondence based on independent research. Some overnight travel is required. Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
Work Hours : 8 a.m. 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, 40 hours a week with occasional evening and weekend hours. Hours may change based on business needs and may vary in accordance with division policies for Work Alternative Schedules (WALT). Fiscal Management adheres to the agencys directive for telework participation.

License(s) / Certification(s) : A valid Texas (or state of residency) drivers license, a satisfactory driving record and current proof of automobile insurance are a condition of employment. Preferred License(s) / Certification(s) : Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Texas Purchaser (CTP) Certified Texas Procurement Manager (CTPM) or a Certified Texas Contract Manager (CTCM) or other accounting / procurement or auditing certification (CIA, CFE, CGAP, CISA).
