HELOC Specialist

The HELOC Specialist is responsible for performing all functions related to the integrity of incoming HELOC loan data, and all functions related to the integrity of existing HELOC loan data. The Specialist will act as a coordinator between the HELOC unit and the New loans and Transfers servicing units. This role ensures the accuracy of all monthly billings for HELOC loans.

• Reviews loan statements for accuracy
• Reviews billing reports to identify illogical billing conditions
• Resolves borrower billing disputes in a timely manner
• Processes HELOC advance and reversal requests submitted by clients
• Makes necessary corrections for HELOC customers with loan level issues
• Reviews and verifies Note-agreement values to MPS data
• Performs new loan maintenance per specific client guidelines
• Performs HELOC notice QC and daily file review
• Reviews and inputs payment changes within MSP
• Validates signatures on in-clearing HELOC checks
• Communicates and follows-up on and the overall reconciliation of missing signatures cards internally / externally
• Creates procedures for HELOC Management and may be asked to train representatives.
• Organizes and documents new client's documents and data files
• Conducts modification processing, including borrower contact and system changes
• Reviews loan agreement, Note / Rider and product spec to determine proper plan selection and plan creation. Review will encompass all financial data (IR, P&I, caps, margins, etc)
• Performs loan level data review to assist in determining proper HELOC plan selection and / or pre-conversion maintenance
• Conducts data mapping sessions to ensure proper HELOC plan selection, identify illogical conditions, and initial billing amounts / dates
• Performs loan level data review to confirm accuracy of conversion
• Performs loan level corrections as necessary from post-conversion review
• Reviews loan agreement and product spec pre-implementation to determine proper plan selection and / or plan creation for interface. Review will encompass all financial data (IR, P&I, Billing and Fees) for HELOCs
• Performs post-boarding review of loan level data for existing clients flow business, and loan level corrections as necessary
• Performs quality control on existing HELOC loan inquiries and client requests
• Conducts quality control review on qualified written requests, presidential complaints, and client audits.
• Creates procedures for HELOCS management and may be asked to train representatives
• Ensures the successful implementation of the servicing platform that will be utilized to service the HELOC product
• Develops and documents policies and procedures in accordance with applicable regulatory, investor, and client requirements
• Acts as a liaison with vendors to include servicing system provider as required
• Trains and coaches HELOC specialists
• Completes other duties and projects as assigned by HELOC Supervisor
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, include but not limited to compliance and operational risk. Demonstrate consideration for the client's reputation as well as our clients, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards

It is critical that you have an understanding of the following :

• Requirements under the Truth and Lending Act (TILA) specifically, billing errors and resolution and the treatment of credit balances.

Disqualifiers :

• Candidates who are used to working in a highly structured and process-driven environment where little-to-know critical thinking or problem solving is required. The client is needing talent who can identify and escalate process gaps, control errors and inefficiencies independently.
• Candidates with origination experience rather than a servicing experience. The servicing experience must be recent (within the past 6 months at most).

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $32.00 / hr.
