Associa, a community management firm with over 225 branch offices and 11,000+ team members, is hiring a General Manager for our condominium community in the Bethesda / Rockville, MD area.
Job Description
The General Manager serves as the liaison among homeowners, Board of Directors, Committee Members, management staff, and maintenance vendors. The role oversees all administrative, financial, and maintenance functions and plans for future capital projects to improve the community.
Daily Responsibilities
- Implement board policy and directives within the scope of the management agreement; work with board on strategic initiatives, policy governance and association projects.
- Walk and inspect property, ensuring it is well maintained and that HOA code, compliance, rules & regulations are adhered; issue violation letters to homeowners and follow up.
- Meet and greet homeowners, residents, board members, and maintenance vendors and contractors.
- Research and respond to inquiries in person, by phone, and by e‑mail.
- Enter data and update information in the database; record and track documents.
- Create and manage budgets; review financial reports and interpret balance sheet, income statement, operating expenses, and reserves.
- Submit RFPs, manage bid and vendor selection process, develop vendor relationships, and manage capital projects.
- Prioritize maintenance requests and work orders; schedule and coordinate maintenance vendors and contractors onsite.
- Prepare board packages; coordinate and schedule monthly and annual board meetings.
- Send weekly mass communications by mail and e‑mail to homeowners about maintenance, HOA guidelines, and community events.
- Assist homeowners in completing architectural review forms and follow up on the board’s decision.
- Other projects as assigned.
Requirements
2+ years of community association experience.Prior experience managing condominiums highly desired.Active CMCA, AMS, or PCAM, or willingness to obtain one; company paid.Knowledge of the association board role, GM role, and interface with homeowner requests.Customer focused, service driven, and team oriented.Collaborative and consultative approach when assisting others.Financial acumen; ability to read and interpret financial statements, balance sheet, income statement, operating expenses, reserves, delinquency reports, variance analysis.Effective project management skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects at various stages and communicate with all parties involved.Excellent written and spoken communication skills, project management skills, and conflict resolution techniques.Seniority level
