Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced NICU RN with a valid OH or compact license for a Level III neonatal intensive care assignment in Ohio.
Responsibilities
Position is in a Level III NICU caring for neonates from 22 weeks gestation and aboveNight shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts from 19 : 00 to 07 : 30Patient population includes neonates requiring respiratory, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, surgical, and cardiac interventionsSpecialized procedures performed include management of arterial and central lines, and ventilator settingsMedication administration is done using the Pyxis systemPatient documentation is completed using Nationwide Children's EPIC EMRCollaborate with a multidisciplinary team including NPs, pharmacists, therapists, respiratory services, and social servicesManage complex neonatal cases including those with respiratory distress, glucose imbalances, and post-surgical needsDemonstrate expertise in use of multiple ventilator types and neonatal abstinence syndrome interventionsEffective SBAR communication with care teams and families is expectedLocals are accepted without pay adjustmentCandidates with prior experience at Nationwide Children's Hospital given special considerationFormer employees eligible if separated for at least 6 months; current employees are not eligibleAdherence to Ohio fingerprinting process is required immediately upon contract acceptanceAll time off requests must be submitted at applicationRequirements
Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of considerationCurrent BLS and NRP certifications requiredGraduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program requiredMinimum experience in Level III or IV NICU settings requiredCompetency in cardiovascular dysrhythmia interpretation, gastrointestinal feeding methods, infection control, and IV therapyTwo recent professional references required, one must be from a supervisor or leadership roleBenefits
