We understand the need to provide a flexible working environment partnered with team collaboration and socialization. Therefore, we operate a hybrid working model with 3 days in-office and 2 days remotely. This role is based at our HQ in Solon, Ohio.

The Role:

The QA Engineer will work closely with developers and product owners on an Agile team to devise test cases and plans, ensuring comprehensive coverage of test cases as well as assisting in developing user stories and acceptance criteria. Cross-collaborating with other QA Engineers to identify functions and features which require test automation. Manages acceptance criteria, maintains documentation, user accounts and test data used by the team.

Functions:

  • Hands-on experience in testing software in a structured QA environment.
  • Solid understanding of Agile practices.
  • Specific experience testing backend systems and business logic
  • Able to write and execute medium to high level complexity test cases and scenarios for API, UI and integrated testing.
  • Able to write and execute medium to high level complexity queries.
  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming concepts and ability to write low and medium level complexity automated tests.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills and the ability to work successfully with cross-functional teams.
  • Must be able to analyze software applications to verify that various products conform to stated requirements.
  • Collaborates with Product teams to design performance tests by finding features, functions, and services that need to be performance tested and the appropriate user/transaction/data load.
  • Experience with Performance testing a plus

Secondary:

  • Ability to lead work on small scale continuous improvement efforts.
  • Ability and willingness to mentor junior-level associates.
  • Able to work autonomously requiring little supervision.
  • Recommends, champions, and implements new processes

Manual:

  • Coaches junior team members.
  • May perform demonstrations of developed software to business representatives.
  • Participates in the creation, development and maintenance of test strategies.
  • Writes more complex SQL statements to assist in solution implementations.
  • Participates in research of QA solutions and/or tools that provide value to MRI Software. Evaluates and enhances standards, technologies, and approaches in conjunction with senior team members.
  • Execute security test cases as identified.

Automation:

  • Research solutions and/or tools that provide value to MRI. Evaluates and enhances standards, technologies, and approaches in conjunction with senior team members.
  • Assists in the development of ongoing training for the QA team
  • Reviews code committed by junior team members, ensures all are adhering to correct standards.
