Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Newark is currently seeking a Full Time Payroll Accountant for its Finance Department located in Newark, New Jersey .

JOB DESCRIPTION :

  • Provides support to the payroll department and ensures the timely and accurate processing of payroll records by compiling, organizing, and entering data into the Agency Employee Information System.
  • Responsible for the overall financial activities and a function of a major not-for-profit social service organization includes analytical review of general ledger accounts and preparation of financial statements in accordance with corporate policies and generally accepted accounting principles.

SCHEDULE :

Monday-Friday 8 : 30am-5 : 00pm

IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD POSSESS THE FOLLOWING ABILITIES & SKILLS :

  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge and proficiency in using Microsoft Office, including Excel
  • Ability to rapidly learn and use the Agency’s data financial system to ensure timely and accurate closings of the Agency’s financial system
  • Ability to work closely with program managers to ensure accurate reporting of transaction according to approved internal and government budgets

JOB REQUIREMENTS :

Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or a related field required

1 to 3 years of experience in finance, payroll or accounting is preferred but not required
